Q value smaller than p value
WebMay 17, 2024 · Hello everyone, After conducting a single subject analysis with surface data using 3dDeconvolve I found that the p and q values were very similar. I then used 3dcalc to create new contrasts based on the 3dDeconvolve results and recalculated the FDR curves with 3drefit. To my surprise I found that the corrected q values were now smaller than p. WebApr 25, 2012 · Part of R Language Collective Collective. 14. This issue arose when I was trying to use p.adjust to run FDR adjustment on a vector of p-values. The problem was …

WebApr 6, 2014 · I have a list of p-values from a series of regression equations. Many of these P-values are small. To compute false discovery rate I have been using the q-value package in R. I notice, based on this analysis, that P-values of 0.05 correspond to q … WebA p-value threshold (alpha) of 0.05 yields a FPR of 5% among all truly null features. A q-value threshold of 0.05 yields a FDR of 5% among all features called significant. The q …

WebSo if you obtain a p-value of 0.85, then you have little reason to doubt the null hypothesis. However, if your p-value is say 0.02, there’s only a very small chance you would have obtained that data if the null hypothesis was in fact true. And since the p-value is a probability just like alpha, p-values also range from 0 to 1.

WebJul 30, 2014 · Using mafdr to produce false discovery rate adjusted Q values from lists of p-values has been working well for me with large datasets. The adjusted values appear reasonable. However, with very small datasets the Q values produced can be smaller than the initial p-values - particularly if many of the p-values are small. This seems wrong.
