WitrynaAbstract. When a jet of water strikes a surface, its velocity (and hence its momentum) is changed. The force exerted by the surface on the jet is then obtained by applying Newton’s Second Law, i.e. the force normal to the surface is equal to the rate of change of momentum, or change of momentum per second, normal to the surface.
